What Has MiP.O.V. Been Up To? . . . Hint - EvoNexus!
It’s been a couple of months since our last blog update, but it has been anything but quiet at MiP.O.V. HQ. Today we fill you in on a quiet, but extremely productive period for the team.
First and foremost, we would like to announce MiP.O.V.’s acceptance into EvoNexus’ Spring 2017 Class - Southern California’s leading startup technology incubator! The selection process was extremely selective and we are honored to be associated with such a distinguished class of start-ups. Nearly 100 companies applied and only approximately 10% were accepted. Through the EvoNexus program MiP.O.V. will receive mentorship, access to capital and space in a collaborative working environment at no cost to the company. “Evo”, as it is known locally, is a non-profit incubator supported by corporate investors, including some of the largest multinational corporations in the world including strategic funding partners The Irvine Company, Qualcomm, InterDigital and ViaSat. Startups in the incubator enjoy no-cost Class A office and dry lab space provided by California’s leading real estate developer, The Irvine Company.
The mentorship that you receive from EvoNexus is second to none. The all-volunteer EvoNexus Selection Committee and Mentor Group is comprised of professionals whose careers have influenced the growth of the technology and life science industry and economy in Southern California and beyond. Committee members and Mentors are executives, investors and entrepreneurs from major companies such as Qualcomm, Illumina, ViaSat, LG, InterDigital, ResMed, Broadcom, CareFusion, Receptos, Verizon and many more.
Individually, each member contributes his or her domain expertise to actively recruit and vet EvoNexus applicants. Collectively, the Committee identifies and recommends admittance of companies with the highest potential to launch and scale. Committee members are resolute individuals who become mentors and advisors to the emerging companies that will further transform the Southern California region. They provide introductions to strategic partners and early stage capital. Their goal is to accelerate the growth the innovation economy through the startups they admit to the EvoNexus incubator program.
